Went for a birthday party. Lifeguard were really friendly. The rest of the staff weren't as much. Lockers aren't big enough for a family and you need to have a pound coin. Village changing cubicles are way too small. I took 2 of my children and we could barely move.

The pool is great, both lane swimming and a kids play pool. Changing rooms are small, cramped and slippy. There aren't enough showers when it's busy. Caf is basic.

Water quality in the main pool is generally good and the chlorine level is also very well managed (too much chlorine can cause sore eyes, itchy skin, unpleasant smell etc). There are a number of ongoing issues however which detract from the overall experience in the main pool:1. At busy times there can be lengthy delays at the front desk. I recently waited nearly 10 mins just to pay for a swim (currently 4.20). Delays typically caused by mothers arranging/arguing over swimming lessons for their children. Occasionally customers are directed to the restaurant in order to pay for a swim but this is not always the case. No facility to pay via a machine. There is an urgent need to set up some sort of 'fast track' payment system. I'm sure some customers give up waiting and simply don't bother to pay (access to the changing rooms is unobstructed thus easy to enter without paying).2. Diving pool - all diving boards have now been removed thus diving effectively banned which is a great shame. Anyone who wants to become the next Tom Daley should go elsewhere. Don't know why the boards were removed - presumably 'elf and safety or Halo's inability to properly supervise the diving pool.3. Maintenance work often very slow to complete. Ongoing maintenance work has partially obstructed the changing room access to the pool for several weeks.4. Main changing rooms are now unisex and sometimes rather smelly. Main showers also unisex and become very crowded at times.5. Lane swimming - at certain times the 'medium' speed lane is very narrow and crowded. This results in swimmers of varying abilities and speeds attempting to share a relatively confined space. This can be both frustrating and dangerous as fast swimmers attempt to get past slower moving individuals. Not a problem when the 'fast' speed lane is operational. The 'slow' speed lane is always spacious.6. I'm unsure what the length of the main pool is - probably 25mts. No advisory signage - staff I spoke to also seemed unsure! The Halo website is silent on this point.

Great swimming lessons. John is a great teacher. Shame about the rest of the staff who always seem more interested in their own conversation than helping customers.

Friendly helpful staff. Great accessible venue although it does have a steep ramp or steps to navigate. Aerofit and MS therapy classes are inspirational. Pool changing village is good. Only one disabled changing room with private shower and toilet as well as a changing places bed. Need to use a shower chair to enter the leisure pool which is hard to negotiate because of the anti slip matting. Takes at least two people to push the chair up or down the slope . Main pool has steps only to get in but for those who need it the staff can hoist a chair into the water. Toddler pool has steps only
