Such a shame that there is a bad review of this company by a disgruntled stag group on here. Whilst Rob the owner is very relaxed about this I feel compelled to write a review as this company has been going for over 15 years. Ive been coming with Rob and Ultimate for the last 6 years with my family and always had such a lovely time. Ultimate are very accommodating in terms of timings, advising best routes and ensuring safety, we have always paddled with our kids and have been given exemplary briefs, options to cancel if its rained and tuition on the river until we felt comfortable. We phone up every year and always are given fantastic and punctual treatment. I genuinely would highly recommend these guys.
We rented two canoes for a boys weekend - LBCH were really helpful with timings, places to stop, flexible when we were early/late etc. Was a great weekend!
pathetic !!! wouldn't even let us hire because one adult and 13 year old who both can swim and with life jackets and in a meter of water is a massive health and safety risk. faking pathetic
I've now done 4 trips on the river wye. This hire was a disgrace. All other canoe hire companies we used were professional and delivered. This place/guy let us down with timings, gear, agreed prices, couldn't even arrange pick up from our hotel. We had to cart our gear across town 15mins away for some random taxi bus to pick us up (which then drove past our hotel towards drop off).One word disorganised!He even forgot one of the kayaks we booked, and didn't have enough barrels for the trip. My friend slept in a wet sleeping bag for 3 nights.Use a different canoe hire place, plenty available.
Super time on the river. We had a large group of children with us and Rob and his team looked after us very well.
