Excellent book Shop. In interesting border town. Well worth a visit.
I have just had a very unpleasant encounter with the owner of this bookstore. My husband died suddenly and left about 200 theology books. I phoned and asked if they were interested and was told the buyer was in my area and would call in. He looked in one box, said he didnt buy rubbish and left without looking at any of the other books. I would have preferred it if he had just said that there was no market for these books instead of being so rude and hurtful.
We could have spent a week looking in bookstores. Some lovely cafs and good weather rounded up a beautiful day. Canoeing on Wye is a nice idea too.
Quaint village. Beautiful place to spend the day. Antique shops and book shops lots of coffee shops with seating outside. You can even rent a canoe when you get there.
I telephoned this bookseller asking if he would be interested in buying about 800-1000 books, consisting mainly of poetry,WW1 and 2, general history and art books. They assured me of their interest and would phone back. I waited no call, phoned again, yes they would come and see the books, no cherry picking they would offer a price and if acceptable, take all. No follow up call, phoned again, yes they would come the following week, letting me know on which day. I waited, nothing. I have now given up as this has been going for more than a month, and I have decided they have no interest and have wasted a great deal of my time. It is preferable to be told at the beginning if they have no interest.North Walian.
